Superman star Rachel Brosnahan has brutal message for actors who slam superhero movies
Rachel Brosnahan, who is set to play Lois Lane in James Gunn's Superman reboot, has hit out at actors who criticize superhero movies.
Rachel Brosnahan is taking a stand on the superhero film genre and is calling on her peers to join her.
During a conversation with Amanda Seyfried, Brosnahan discussed the tendency of actors to distance themselves from superhero films after participating in them.
The star of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, who will portray Lois Lane in James Gunn's forthcoming Superman reboot, expressed her confusion over actors who accept roles only to later criticize them. "I don't know why people say yes only to then turn around and complain about it," Brosnahan remarked.

"Look, I don't want to s--- on other actors, but there was a minute where it was cool to not like superhero movies and to look back on projects like this and pooh-pooh them."
Seyfried had previously commended the filmmaking process, noting that the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved often translates into the final product
She went on to suggest a rebranding of the genre: "I honestly don't think you should call it a superhero movie ever again, because it isn't just that, and I think people are going to see that."
Brosnahan concurred, highlighting the emotional layers present in the upcoming Superman narrative.
"It's really important to have this kind of superhero, this guy who's just trying to do his best," she emphasized.
Under the direction of James Gunn, who also serves as co-head of DC Studios, the new Superman film signifies a fresh chapter for the storied franchise.
