John Goodman looks unrecognizable as he shows off 200lb weight loss in dapper outfit
Actor John Goodman looked worlds away from his former self as he attended the premiere of The Smurfs in Los Angeles at the weekend, after losing over 200lb
John Goodman was noticeably slimmer as he attended the Smurfs premiere in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The 73-year-old actor cut a dapper figure in a navy blue suit, white shirt, gray tie and brown loafers while posing for photos at the Paramount Studios event on Sunday.
Goodman lends his voice to Papa Smurf in the upcoming animated film, which also features Rihanna as Smurfette and is slated for a July 18 theater release.

Goodman has shed an impressive 200lbs through a complete lifestyle overhaul. In 2007, the Flintstones star, who once tipped the scales at 392 pounds, committed to quitting alcohol, incorporating exercise into his routine and adopting healthier eating habits.
Personal trainer Mackie Shilstone played a pivotal role in Goodman's weight loss journey by introducing him to a "Mediterranean-style eating plan" that emphasizes fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables and fruit.
John also maintains a rigorous workout schedule, ensuring he takes between 10,000 and 12,000 steps daily.
In a 2017 interview with ABC, Goodman reflected on his weight loss journey, "In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits. This time I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I'm getting to the age where I can't afford to sit still anymore."
In a previous conversation with Howard Stern, he shared, "I took it slow. I just wanted to change my lifestyle," and confessed that his new lifestyle is "an ongoing process for the rest of my life."

He also candidly discussed his battle with alcohol addiction in an interview with Rolling Stone, stating, "All that anger was fueled by fear, and the drinking was because it was fun.
"But I was probably born an alcoholic. But most of the anger's gone. If I don't watch the news, I'm cool.'"
Apart from lending his voice to Papa Smurf, John is currently working on a new action film alongside Tom Cruise and Academy Award-winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu, despite sustaining an injury on set back in March.
He recounted to The Hollywood Reporter, "It was a real accident. We had been working on the scene for a week and a half.
"I wasn't quite getting it right, and through a process, I finally made a breakthrough.
"But after that, we were blocking it, and I was wearing stocking feet, like I had been for the last week and a half.
"I was passing Tom, and my legs just went on the floor, and I came up parallel to the ground and landed on my hip.
"I tried to get back up, and when I couldn't do that, I started fearing the worst. I didn't know I had fractured it until we got X-rays."
