His broadcasts have provided viewers with comprehensive updates on the situation, featuring "heartbreaking" interviews, including one with a "hero" Coast Guard rescue swimmer who saved 165 individuals affected by the disastrous floods.
Muir also brought his audience closer to the devastation by traveling to Kerrville, Texas, which the program has identified as "the epicenter of one of the deadliest U.S. floods in decades."

During his visit to Texas, he was moved by the story of a local softball team, which he regards as a prime example of "America Strong."
Concluding his segment on July 15, he spotlighted the "young softball team determined to show up despite what they've endured."
He reported, "After deadly flash flooding devastated their community, the Texas Voodoo girls' softball team from Kerr County traveled to Oklahoma to compete in a national tournament and was recognized by USA Softball."
In spite of the floods ravaging their hometown just 10 days prior, the girls resolved to hit the road and participate, having prepared all season for the competition in Oklahoma City.
"As a team, they decided to make that seven-hour drive north anyway," he continued.
"They were there for each other."

The girls expressed their resolve, with first base's Macy Cobb declaring, "Even through all the hardships, we still wanted to represent the Hill Country community."
Bailey King, playing right fielder, also shared, "It helped take our mind off the devastating floods happening in our hometown."
Shortstop Caydence Barbo voiced a collective spirit, saying, "Even with all the heartbreak and devastation, we wanted to show that we can do it."
Catcher Callie Phillips summed up the team's resilience, "Even though we have suffered an immeasurable amount of pain and tragedy, we have stayed strong and will rise above all of this."
Following David’s expression of support when he said he was "cheering" for them, fans showered praise on the heartfelt segment on Instagram.
One fan praised enthusiastically, "Great job," paired with several clapping hand emojis.
