A popular sitcom star who rose to fame in the 80s looked completely unrecognizable during a street performance in New York City this week.
Tony Danza, best known for starring on the TV shows Who's the Boss? and Taxi, was spotted singing outside the Manny's Bistro on the Upper West Side.
In a video shared on TikTok, the actor, wearing a button-down shirt with sleeves rolled up, can be seen belting out Steve Allen's This Could Be the Start of Something Big.

The 74-year-old was backed up by several live musicians, including a pianist and a drummer, and was all smiles during the performance.
But as people passed by, many seemed unaware that the singer was actually Tony who, in addition to being an actor, is also a tap dancer and ukulele player.
After the video was posted online, many fans shared their reactions, with one saying, "Tony is 74, this generation has no idea who he is."
A person said, "Ppl getting a real treat and don’t realize it… wish I was there."
A third commented, "Me watching this video: OMG, he looks just like Tony Danza, but he’s not that old. *opens the comments* OMG THAT’S TONY DANZA!"

Tony was nominated for an Emmy Award and four Golden Globe Awards for his role on Who's the Boss? and in 1998, he won People's Choice Award for Favorite Male Performer in a New Television Series for his role on the sitcom The Tony Danza Show.
Last year, in an interview with the New York Times, Tony, who was a professional boxer before he started his acting career in 1977, spoke about his passion for singing.
He said, "I can start singing at six o'clock in the morning, and nobody hears me, and I don't hear them. That's one of the reasons I love this apartment."

The actor is now pursuing his passion for music and touring with his four-piece band in a live show called Standards & Stories, with performances scheduled at Café Carlyle in NYC between September 23 and September 27.
His previous shows at the same venue last month sold out. Tickets are now available for the September performances.
