'Nobody asked for this' Scrubs fans fume as ABC announces new season after 15 years
Scrubs is set to return for a new season with three of its original stars - but not all fans are happy, with many saying 'nobody asked for this'
Scrubs fans are split following ABC's announcement that the show will be making a comeback with a new season.
The medical comedy wrapped up with Season 9, with the final episode airing in March 2010. For years, fans have speculated about a potential Scrubs revival, and now their predictions are becoming reality.
ABC has confirmed that the show will be resurrected for the 2025-2026 broadcast TV season, with three of its original stars returning. Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke will all reprise their roles on the hit series, along with series creator Bill Lawrence.

According to an ABC press release, former interns JD (Braff) and Turk (Faison) will "scrub in together for the first time in a long time."
The statement hinted, "Medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart, and some surprises along the way."
Despite the excitement surrounding the show's return, not all fans are thrilled. "This show is going to fall miles behind the original. People get offended too easily, and the original scrubs was great. I give it 1 season 2 if they force it," one disgruntled fan vented on X.
Another pleaded, "Leave it alone," while someone else echoed the sentiment, "I loved this show, but they should leave it as it is. Those reboots are usually a miss.."
A fourth viewer expressed skepticism, "Why? ABC you need to come up with new and original content. Not reboots."
There was also a disgruntled sentiment that ABC is "milking it dry," with an additional voice chiming in, "No one asked for that."

Meanwhile, a seventh audience member cautioned, "Nobody wants this."
Still, not everyone shares the criticism; some fans are excited for the new installment of the series.
An enthusiastic fan shared on X, "I seriously can't wait!" Echoing the excitement, another said, "Thats amazing news for fans."
A third posted, "With the three icons coming back yes please! #Scrubs such an addicting amazing series @zachbraff @sarahchalke #DonaldFaison."
In the wake of ABC’s announcement, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence commented, "Scrubs means so very much to me. So excited for the chance to get the band back together."
Originally premiering on NBC in October 2001 and featuring stars like Zach, Donald, Sarah, Neil Flynn (Janitor), Ken Jenkins (Chief of Medicine Dr. Bob Kelso), John C. McGinley (Dr. Perry Cox) and Judy Reyes (nurse Carla Espinosa), Scrubs switched to ABC for its eighth season before being canceled after its ninth.
The show’s cast has hinted at a revival over time, with Zach and Donald even starting the Scrubs podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
