Tyler Shough was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 40 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and it's fair to say his wife and dog stole the show.

Tyler Shough's second-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft may have been a headline-grabber, but it was his wife who became an overnight sensation. It comes as Joy Taylor's nephew was drafted on the same night, just hours after making a bold sex confession.

Chosen by the New Orleans Saints as their No. 40 overall pick, Shough was the third quarterback to be drafted, after Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart were picked by the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants. The move to draft Shough ahead of Shedeur Sanders undoubtedly raised some eyebrows since the Colorado star was still up for grabs.

Nonetheless, the tender moment Shough shared with his wife Jordan upon being announced stole the spotlight. Her celebratory double fist pump, followed by their close hug, captured the hearts of the audience.

Fans and social media users quickly dubbed Jordan as the newest NFL Draft family star. One particular fan proclaimed, "The second round belongs to Tyler Shough's wife, Jordan," while others humorously said: "With the 40th pick in the NFL draft the New Orleans Saints select Jordan Shough...I mean Tyler...sorry I got the wrong person."

Some attendees of the draft party insisted that Murphy, Tyler Shough's golden retriever, was in fact the star of the evening. Amid the chaos and excitement, the charming dog joined in on the festivities by climbing onto his owner to share in the celebration.

"Nobody was more excited about Tyler Shough getting drafted than his pup," declared one observer. Another fan gushed over the player's canine companion, saying, "Tyler Shough's dog just made me a Tyler Shough fan. Golden's are the best."

While chatting with ESPN and accompanied by Jordan and Murphy, who sported a Saints bandana in style, Shough remarked about his four-legged friend: "She was fired up, for sure. She was snoozing a little bit earlier but now she's ready to go to New Orleans."

At 25, Shough is the oldest quarterback in this year's draft owing to his extensive seven years at college-level football. The quarterback, who will soon turn 26, started his college stint at Oregon in 2018, where he notably played seven games for the Ducks in a season curtailed by COVID-19.

In the next three years, Shough had nine starts at Texas Tech; however, injuries largely hindered his run there. His last year of eligibility saw him at Louisville, completing 244 out of 389 passes for 3,195 yards, throwing 23 touchdowns, and registering six interceptions across 12 games.
