The tension was already high at LIV Golf’s latest Duels event in Dallas — and it came with a healthy dose of humor, thanks to a prank pulled by none other than Jon Rahm, who had a recent collapse at the PGA Championship.

Known for his laser focus on the fairway, Rahm recently revealed his wryer, more mischievous side, putting one over on veteran Phil Mickelson, whose final U.S. Open ended in disappointment, and content creator Grant Horvat in a stunt that has since gone viral.

In a playful clip posted to LIV Golf’s Instagram page, the trio was found mid‑round when Mickelson — using his rangefinder to gauge yardage — let out a confident “175. That’s not too bad.” Horvat echoed the reassurances. But seconds later they both looked puzzled: that pin was clearly closer than the device suggested.

A quick glance, a quiet laugh — and the reveal: their rangefinders had been switched from yards to meters. Mickelson knew someone was having fun with him, as Rahm maintained a stony poker face and quipped when accused, “Like I’m the only one who plays meters here? We have three Europeans!” But when Horvat’s unit also read meters, Rahm collapsed in chuckles — his scheme had spread to every device in play.

A bit of mischief on the course can make any round more memorable — and Jon Rahm delivered in style. His prank, switching the rangefinders from yards to meters, took a familiar trick and gave it a hilarious twist by targeting both Phil Mickelson and Grant Horvat. Mickelson laughed it off, joking it would take forever to fix, while both him and Horvat handled the prank with good humor.

Fans wasted no time weighing in. “Rahm’s reaction when Grant realizes

One fan was extremely complimentary of LIV Golf in response to the prank, writing, “Liv allowed the personality of players to come out. Especially on social media. Bryson, rahm."

This prank isn’t Rahm’s first rodeo at besting Mickelson with unit-swapping. Earlier this year, NFL MVP Josh Allen famously pulled the same trick during a YouTube round with Rahm, Mickelson and Horvat, prompting wide laughter and making the stunt something of a modern tradition.
