Thanks to protestors, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez haven’t had the easiest time preparing for the big day.
The high-profile couple is set to tie the knot over this weekend with a star-studded guest list including Ivanka Trump, Kim Kardashian and Orlando Bloom, who is planning to be the “life of the party” amid rumors that he has split from his fiancée Katy Perry.
While it must have taken a long time to plan the three-day extravaganza, it took even longer due to protestors causing them to change the location at the last minute.

About a dozen organizations based in Venice, Italy, where the nuptials are set to take place, rallied together to protest the event. They even created several banners, including one that “No Space for Bezos” and another that read, “IF YOU CAN RENT VENICE FOR YOUR WEDDING YOU CAN PAY MORE TAX.”
The protests died down a bit after the couple listened to their concerns and changed their venue. However, a few are still in pursuit to stop the ceremony set for Friday, June 27.
Tommaso Cacciari, a prominent figure in the movement, explained the community’s frustrations, with one being the Amazon founder’s close ties to President Donald Trump.
Speaking to ABC News, he said, “Bezos is not a Hollywood actor. He is an ultra-billionaire who sat next to Donald Trump during the inauguration, who contributed to his re-election and is contributing in a direct and heavy way to this new global obscurantism.’’
Another one of critics’ issues with the wedding has to do with Amazon’s labor practices and ongoing tax disputes with European governments.
One of the most prominent reasons for the protests correlates with the growing population of tourists in the area.

British political campaign group Everyone Hates Elon explained the matter to AP, stating the wedding wasn’t the issue, it was the “unchecked wealth, media control, and the growing privatization of public spaces.”
"He is basically going to treat the whole city as a private ballroom, as a private event area, as if the citizens are not there," said Alice Bazzoli, an activist with No Space for Bezos.
In an attempt at halting the nuptials, some protesters vowed to toss inflatables into the canals, blocking celebrity guests from arriving by gondola or water taxi.
The local activists have modified the protest into a march from the train station after Jeff and his soon-to-be wife from the 16th-century Scuola Grande della Misericordia to the Arsenale.
