Mataeo Smith joined as a news reporter in 2023. He loves to write about politics, crime and niche topics. He previously worked as a blog writer and photographer for Journey Beyond Aspen magazine. Before that, he freelanced for Lake Champlain Weekly where he covered art galleries and wrote artist profiles. Mataeo is from The Bronx, New York and earned his Bachelors of Arts in journalism from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. He is a Hip-Hop connoisseur who loves to visit art museums, ride his skateboard and cook.
