White House addresses Trump's swollen legs after photo sparks health panic
US President Donald Trump is in "excellent health" according to the White House, but his physician has now confirmed he has a condition
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that President Trump's visible health concerns stem from "chronic venous insufficiency," according to an assessment conducted by the White House physician.
Citizens across the nation have observed several anomalies in the president's physical appearance recently, highlighting noticeable skin abnormalities and ankle swelling. "I know that many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the president's hand and also swelling in the president's legs. In the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician ... all results were within normal limits."
Leavitt explained that the discoloration and inflammation resulted from President Trump's daily responsibilities within the White House. The abnormalities on his hands were allegedly attributed to continuous handshaking with visitors and foreign dignitaries.

Regarding the enlarged ankles, the White House medical professional links them to the president's advanced age of 79. The sitting commander-in-chief is apparently dealing with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that develops when veins have difficulty pumping blood from the lower extremities back to the heart.
This ailment is commonly triggered by compromised valve function. The physician's note to the press on Thursday disclosed: "In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs. In keeping with routine medical care and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit.
The president underwent a comprehensive examination including diagnostic vascular studies, bilateral lower extremity venous doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency. A benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70."
When queried about any potential discomfort for the president when walking or wearing shoes, Leavitt responded: "No discomfort at all and you see that on a day-to-day basis. "The president is in excellent health."
Amidst a heated online spat, Elon Musk's recent allegations that President Trump appears in the Epstein files have sparked a flurry of questions directed at the White House, even as it contends with disapproval from MAGA advocates.
With the Trump administration facing potential unrest among supporters who are skeptical of the official explanations for not releasing the documents, especially given Trump's 2024 campaign promises to expose child sex predators linked to the infamous Jeffrey Epstein, the path forward remains uncertain.
The recent flooding tragedy in Texas didn't seem to distract right-wingers, nor did an unsigned memo from the Justice Department claiming there were "no Epstein files."
Attorney General Pam Bondi is under increasing pressure to disclose the full client list.
In a conversation with reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday, President Trump dismissed the files as a "Democrat hoax" despite Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's accomplice, serving a 20-year sentence for her involvement in the disgraced financier's child abuse.
This press conference followed the unexpected dismissal of Maurene Comey, James Comey's daughter, from her position at the Manhattan US Attorney's Office on Thursday. Notably, Maurene prosecuted disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a child sex ring, and more recently Sean "diddy" Combs, who managed to evade charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Since resuming office in January, Comey has been a target of the president, who ordered the Department of Justice to investigate the former FBI director over allegations of mishandling the Russian interference scandal. This involved officials from the FBI and CIA conducting an investigation into then-president Trump's actions to determine if he was illicitly colluding with Moscow during the 2016 election.
Former CIA Director John Brennan has also faced backlash from the Trump administration. Officials from Trump's team have leveled accusations of unprofessional conduct at James Comey during his investigation in Trump's first term, alleging political bias against the administration and even hostility through various social media posts.
